Frequently Asked Questions

Can I get a blank envelope with my card?
All orders are sent to you in an outer envelope with a blank envelope for each card ready for you to send the card on.

Can Cardoons personalise my card?
We do not provide a personalisation service. All orders are sent to you so you can write your own message.

Is the balloon inflated for me?
No. Each card comes with a deflated balloon hanging out of the hole provided. Send the card on with the balloon deflated so the recipient has the fun of inflating and attaching the balloon.

How long does the balloon stay inflated for?
We only use high quality natural latex balloons. In our own indoor tests, under normal conditions, we have found that the balloons remain inflated for 10 to 15 days. In some cases the balloon has remained inflated for over a month!

How much are the cards?
Each card costs £2.99 plus postage and packaging, the cost of which will depend on the delivery address and how many cards you have ordered. A breakdown of the delivery costs can be found on our delivery information page. Your P&P cost is always displayed in your shopping basket before you checkout.

What material are the cards made of?
All of our cards are printed on a 300gsm flat smooth board that is gloss on one side and matt on the inside. The cards have a high gloss laminated finish to the front and back, whilst the inside remains matt for ease of writing.

How can I pay?
We accept all major Debit and Credit cards: Master Card, Switch, Maestro, Solo, Visa, Visa Debit, Visa Electron.

Why am I having payment problems?
If you receive an error message on screen after a short wait, try and enter your card details again making sure you check everything correctly - it’s often easy to enter a wrong number or expiry date. If you still have no luck, contact us and we’ll assist you.

"Card Not Authorised" - If you receive this message, don’t panic! It doesn’t necessarily mean you have insufficient funds in your account. To combat internet fraud, banks and credit card companies have introduced a series of automatic checks which can easily be falsely triggered. For example if you enter the same number several times in quick succession this will trigger a velocity check because the system thinks you are trying to hack the card. Either try another credit card or call our Customer Service team on 01534 618040 for assistance.

Is entering my Credit Card Details online safe?
All payments made for our cards over the internet or phone are processed securely via Sage Pay, our Payment Service Provider.
Once you are happy with an order in your shopping basket, press the checkout button and you will be taken to the Sage Pay secure payment page to enter your credit card details.

This is how the secure payment system works in more detail:

1.You select the goods you wish to purchase from our website and enter your delivery details. Then click "checkout"
2. You are transferred securely to Sage Pay where you will enter you credit card details (Cardoons do not hold you card details).
3. Sage Pay sends the authorisation results via our merchant bank, HSBC, to you to confirm the results of the transaction.

How secure are my payment and personal details?
Security is of paramount importance to us and we are committed to protecting your privacy. We will only use the information that we collect about you in accordance with the Data Protection (Jersey) Law 2005 .We are listed in the Register of Data Controllers under the number 18700. To avoid the risk of computer fraud, your credit card number is not stored in our system at any point in the payment process. Please see our privacy and security policy for further information.
